To our TTIH members and community,
We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic is new ground for all of us. The unprecedented nature of this crisis has us watching it unfold on a day-to-day basis, without any indication of what's to come in the following weeks and months. With over 157 countries currently affected, we are now dealing with the virus as an international community.
Coincidentally, community is the foundation of our ethos at The Travel Industry Hub and that’s why we believe that working together and boosting morale is vital.
As a coworking space in this current climate, our top priority is the health and safety of our members, our friends and our family. There really is nothing else, and that is why we have decided to remain open with limited operations until further notice. We understand that juggling work and kids during this difficult time is a lot of pressure, so we have devised extra space for our members to ensure they adhere to the new social-distancing rule of keeping 1.5 metres from each other.
We are also supporting our members create new ways to interact as a community. We're working on industry webinars to help industry people, and our team can help set up remote communication and conference services such as Slack or Zoom, to ensure everyone can continue working as seamlessly as possible. Please ask for help.
In addition to this, we have developed an improved cleaning program to combat the increased risk of spreading bacteria around the office.
· increasing number of hand sanitisers
· disinfecting tables, seats, door handles, elevator buttons, monitors, taps and sinks on a daily basis
· cleaning bathroom and kitchen areas thoroughly after use, with all food properly contained and refrigerated
· emptying bins daily
· no handshakes, hugs or kisses.
All members of our coworking space have been informed of these new hygiene and cleaning measures and are encouraged to practice each step. Some other simple practices you can follow to help the wider community:
· if you have cold or flu-like symptoms, please stay home and rest
· if you have returned home from travelling in the last 14 days, please self-isolate for 14 days as advised by the government
· please wash your hands regularly and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds
· stay informed on the facts by visiting at the following resources:
World Health Organization https://www.who.int/
We hope that by sharing accurate information and tips, we can help everyone stay safe without any unnecessary panic or chaos. TTIH is following the instructions from these health and government authorities and will keep members up to date with any further changes.
In recent days, we have seen communities across the globe coming together. Italian neighbours singing in harmony from their balconies, Spanish neighbours following a workout routine from a trainer on a nearby rooftop – and all while quarantined. Whilst it is essential to keep ourselves as healthy as possible, and self-isolated if necessary, these examples just go to show that in times of crisis, people really do band together to support one another.
As such, we want our coworking community to be educated on the topic of COVID-19 by following the instructions from local and global authorities. We also want to help squash any fear by communicating and uplifting each other. We can all appreciate the fact that this won’t last forever, and by practicing good personal hygiene habits and giving each other something to smile about, it’ll be easier to push through this time of shared adversity.
